Costa Southern charms is a small establishment in Costa Mesa, California, that offers various bar and food staples; they also offer a number of original drinks that are not available anywhere else. How to find this hidden gem: Just off of Harbor Boulevard on Miramar Avenue you will find Costa Southern Charms' outdoor bar patio. Costa Southern Charms also has two unique hideouts in their back dining area! One is located behind the bar and the other is located under the pool table.The front dining room has three large flat screens that are used occasionally. On weekends it is usually not uncommon to see a game on one of these screens. The bar features flat screen TVs, two pool tables, and craft beer for purchase. Costa Southern charms also has a full menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, pizza, salads and seafood for lunch and dinner time food options. Besides the food and drinks mentioned above, Costa Southern Charms also features live music from local bands on certain nights. On weekdays they host a dueling piano bar for entertainment. They also occasionally feature a DJ or karaoke for all to enjoy. The origin of Costa Southern Charms dates back to the early 90s when it functioned as a small convenience store with a sandwich counter, called "Bagel N' Beans". In 1994, as demand increased for more food options, they added sandwiches and more seating, keeping the name Bagel N' Beans. In 2000, the store was rebranded as Costa Southern Charms and began featuring live music and drinks. Costa Southern Charms is owned and operated by three individuals: Sean and Howard (the brothers that own Costa Southern Charms) and Michael (a partner that has worked at the restaurant for over 10 years). Awards: The Red Dot Award was created by the Advertising Club of Los Angeles in 2005 to honor achievements in design, creativity, and enthusiasm in food or wine. This honor is granted to businesses that show a high level of creativity in their advertisements. The Tavern Club of Los Angeles, a leading restaurant and bar association, has annually awarded the Tavern Club Spirit Award since 2011. The goal of this awards program is to recognize taverns that prove that they are leaders in service and hospitality by delivering creative and innovative service to enhance customer experience and distinguish themselves from their competitors. The Fashion Designers' Guild of Los Angeles Fashion Awards is presented for distinguished achievement in the fields of fashion design and merchandising by designers working in Southern California.
